Evergreen Shipping named two container ships on the same day

On March 20th, Huangpu Wenchong Company, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Corporation, held a naming ceremony for the 1900TEU series 2 # vessel "EVER CHART" (H2446) and the 3000TEU series first ship "EVER VIM" (H2458), which were built in bulk by Evergreen Shipping.
The ceremony was presided over by Han Jianbing, Deputy General Manager of Whampoa Wenchong Company. Lin Wengui, Chief Deputy General Manager of Evergreen Shipping, and his wife Chen Mingzhu, General Manager of Japan Classification Society Guangzhou Branch Luo Yudong, China Shipbuilding Corporation Trade Representative Xiong Kechao, General Manager of Whampoa Wenchong Company Luo Bing, and General Manager Assistant Xu Qing were present at the ceremony. Lin Wengui, the Chief Vice General Manager of Evergreen Shipping, named the new ship, and Ms. Chen Mingzhu, the Godmother, cut the cables and threw bottles for the new ship. She wished the new ship a safe sailing journey, bringing wealth and glory to its owners.
The cooperation between Evergreen Shipping and Huangpu Wenchong Company began in 2021, with a total of 24 container ship orders for 3 types, making it the largest single civilian product operation order in the history of Huangpu Wenchong Company. Since the contract came into effect, Huangpu Wenchong Company has attached great importance to the project and organized a team of elite personnel to gather into a project construction team. The development, design, production, and close fitting departments each fulfill their duties, ensuring the smooth construction of ships. They have also fully absorbed the advantages of batch construction of series ships, continuously summarized and refined the experience of series ship construction, and promoted the continuous improvement of ship quality.

The "EVER CHART" ship belongs to the "Honghu" 1900TEU series ship type independently developed by Huangpu Wenchong Company, with a total length of 172 meters, a width of 27.5 meters, a depth of 14.6 meters, a load capacity of 23920 tons, and a service speed of 19.2 knots. Unlike other 1900TEU ship types built by Huangpu Wenchong Company, this ship is equipped with an AMP shore electric winch system, a main engine generator exhaust gas desulfurization system, and a more powerful propulsion system. In the process of ship construction, we fully absorb the experience of the first ship construction, and ensure that all links are smooth, orderly, and steadily carried out.

"EVER VIM" is the first 3000TEU container ship developed and built by Huangpu Wenchong Company for Evergreen Shipping. It is the second type of high-quality and high-performance container ship independently developed by Huangpu Wenchong Company since the "Honghu" 1900TEU series. The ship has a total length of 209.8 meters, a width of 34.8 meters, a depth of 17.3 meters, a carrying capacity of 43600 tons, and a designed speed of 20 knots. The ship has undergone multiple rounds of design optimization, and the fuel consumption per tank has reached the international advanced level. Equipped with desulfurization equipment and a complete low sulfur fuel supply system, equipped with AMP shore electric winch system, adopting a series of energy-saving and environmental protection technologies such as the latest drag reducing and anti fouling paint. During the construction process, the ship completed the main distribution board electrification, power generation of motor vehicles, emergency generator function, cargo hold lighting and other nodes in the dock, continuing the good momentum of high integrity container ships leaving the dock with high quality and good condition; After undocking, we steadily progressed according to the plan, and during the sea trial, various projects were efficiently interspersed. After 103 hours of high-quality completion, all projects were successfully returned to sea.
Huangpu Wenchong Company has always adhered to the concept of "one ship is faster than another, and one ship is better than another" and is promoting various work to build high-quality ships for customers. Currently, one ship has been delivered for this batch of orders, and 12 new ships are planned to be delivered in 2024. The addition of these ships will also add new strength to the operational capacity of Evergreen Shipping.
